My Disney 2010 Memory Book : Part 7

Time for day 6. If you'd like to see these pages when they were blank for comparison, you can find them in the intro here

_DSC0203

_DSC0204

On the right I've pasted a photo of that sculpture outside Yak & Yeti that I fell instantly in love with onto the back of a book page.
On the right, blank red velum.

_DSC0205

The red velum, and another park map.

_DSC0206

Looks like I've skipped a page here. I think there was a photo on the front of that picture of Mt Everest.
On the right there are 3 small photos of the safari glued in a line onto scrapbook paper.

_DSC0208

A page from the Snow White book  on the right. I added my 3 favorite gorilla pictures.
On the right, I'm pretty sure I meant to write or add something to the lovely picture of Bambi and his mom, but I never did.

_DSC0209

King Louie sighting on the left.
I added a photo of our lunch to the Guest Check from Yak & Yeti quick serve.

_DSC0210

Here, near the end of the book, I was tired and there are more and more things left unfinished. Sad but true. We ate at Sanaa but I don't know what.
On the right there's a postcard I bought on that trip.

_DSC0211

On the back of the postcard it's a photo of me and Tiggr.
On the right, I've punched holes into a folded up wax paper that Hannah's almonds came in.

_DSC0212

On the right, I added a photo of Hannah hoarding her almonds to a page made from scrapbook paper.

_DSC0213

More scrapbook paper on left side, with a photo and a basic label.
On the right, another Beauty and the Beast postcard.

_DSC0215

I added a photo to the back of the postcard.
Our lowpoints are so low Ariel is diving in the water to rescue them. Not really, I didn't even have one, but this was the page for them.

_DSC0216

On the left are our daily high points.
On the right a photo of everyone at Sanaa, stuck to a page from Wall-E.

_DSC0217

On the left, it's a background page from Aladdin, with a picture of Poison Ivy and a sticker to write on.
Oh no, on the right it's the start of our last day!

My Disney 2010 Memory Book : Part 6

We're ready for day 5!

_DSC0191

_DSC0192

Some of the book pages I used had type on them. I tried to hide those parts with solid cardstock for writing, but in retrospect I didn't really like it. This page also has a journaling block sticker, and a 3d sticker of Flower.
On the right a blank piece of velum. On retrospect those were a boring idea. Behind that is a times guide for Epcot. There's nothing on the front of that page with the dwarf.

_DSC0193

On back of the book page I've added scrapbook paper. I didn't have any photos of Soarin', but wanted to include it because it was my favorite ride. I cut a couple out of some brochure in our room and used those with some labels to talk about it.
I folded up a piece of tissue our snack came in. Don't worry, it was clean. I stuck a label on it so I'd know what it was from.

_DSC0194

The back of the bag and a Belle postcard.

_DSC0195

On the back of the postcard Hannah holds our buzzer for lunch at Hurricane Hanna's.
Here's our Guest Check from that lunch.

_DSC0196

The back of the Guest Check lists details from our dinner at Tutto Italia.
On the right is the photo claim ticket from our ride on Tower of Terror.

_DSC0197

I glued our ride photo onto the back of the claim slip.
A photo of Hannah in Tatooine pasted on a Snow White book.

_DSC0198

Me, outside Tower of Terror, which was instantaly my favorite ride.
On the right I've cut two squares out of scrapbook paper and made a page. I used a photo of us tired and a journal square to label our empty bus ride home.

_DSC0199

On the back of that page I cut out a picture I had taken of a coffee we ordered. I wrote directly on the page.
On the right is a photo of Snow White's wishing well and a blank sticker labeling it as Germany.

_DSC0200

On the back is a photo of Italy.
I used a book page to list our high points.

_DSC0201

On the back I added a ride photo to help explain our low points.
Next, it's day 6 already!

And now we're back with the next page of my Disney memory book from the olden days of 2010.

_DSC0177

Day 4 started with a page from 101 Dalmations. Welcome to Day 4.

_DSC0178

On the left is the back of the 101 Dalmatians page. I cut out a separate picture of Pongo & Perdita and glued it on.
On the right, a 1997 picture inside the Contemporary.

_DSC0179

And the shot of the same spot on this trip.
On the right a blank velum page.

_DSC0183

The next page has a tag that came on a Disney shirt I bought for this trip. I added the Minnie sticker.
On the right there is a scrapbook paper page with a big 3d sticker.

_DSC0181

_DSC0182

After the trip added this picture of me on our favorite boxes.

_DSC0184

On the left is the Alice topiary.
On the right, I've put a topiary from the Circus onto a page from Snow White.

_DSC0186

On the right I've taped the right side of a postcard from a friend to the back of the Snow White page and added a blank tag.
On the right is the paper they give you with your ride photo number on it at Space Mountain.

_DSC0185

If you lift the postcard you find a list of the rides we rode that day.

_DSC0187

The guest check to remind us what we ate at Pecos Bills.

_DSC0188

That night my brother made tacos in our room!
Ariel's sisters sing about our high points...

_DSC0189

And are shocked by our low points.
On the right is a napkin from the Top of the World Lounge.

_DSC0190

The back of the napkin to note we watched Wishes from up there,
And we've made it to day 5!

My Disney 2010 Memory Book : Part 4

This post covers Day 3.

_DSC0162

Again the day starts with a punched Mickey head a Bambi book I bought at a garage sale. I used the Signo Uniball white pen to write "day 3" on the tab.

_DSC0163

I sipped in a holiday map of the Magic Kingdom.

_DSC0164

By cleverly slitting the pages where the holes are, you can fold out the map!

_DSC0165

I added these pictures after I got home and printed them.

_DSC0166

On the left, a list of all the things we'd ridden that day.
On the right, a picture of Hannah in 1997.

_DSC0167

On the back of the picture,a picture of her in the same spot, 13 years later.
On the right a paper fast pass for Mickey's Philharmonic we didn't use.

_DSC0168

On the right, a 1997 picture of Hannah playing near Ariel's grotto.

_DSC0170

And Hannah standing at that spot on this trip while it's under construction.
On the right, another photo.

_DSC0171

I used these Guest Checks to keep track of what we ate every day.

_DSC0172

Another meal, another park, another map.

_DSC0173

The left is the back of the map left plain, on the right a photo of Hannah on the ferry to the TTC.

_DSC0174

On the back of the ferry photo is a shot of entering Hollywood Studios.
A photo of Hannah eating dinner.

_DSC0175

Quotes from dinner and Hannah's daily high list with Eric and Ariel on a high.

_DSC0176

The daily lows with an exasperated Ariel, and it's on to the next day!

_DSC0131

_DSC0132

On the back of the first Ariel page I've added journaling spots to record what a fantastic day I had. I cut out the AK sign from a photo and added it to a sheet of yellow vellum.

_DSC0133

To hide the back of the AK sign, I added an elephant sticker on the vellum. On the right side there's a page from the best scene from The Lion King, and a couple stickers on the bottom.

_DSC0134

One of the things that made me love the AK so much was how many characters I met there! On the back of the LK page, I made a list of everyone I saw. I added in an AK map.

_DSC0135

The map all spread out.

_DSC0136

I added some safari pictures to the back of the map. On the right side a picture of the front gate with a couple postcard stickers on the bottom.

_DSC0143

The front gate photo is backed with a book page of Triton, a journaling sticker and another 3d Mickey sticker. On the other side, a photo of the magnificent Tree of Life.

_DSC0144

The back of the Tree of Life photo shows a close up of my kid and my brother's gf in front of the tree. On the right, another coaster to list some of the best animals I saw. Then a shot of the big daddy gorilla eating.

_DSC0145

_DSC0146

Elephant, tiger, vultures

_DSC0147

_DSC0142

_DSC0149

One of my best moments, meeting King Louie and Baloo!

_DSC0150

List of what we rode on the back of a coaster and a couple fast passes we didn't use.

_DSC0153

Number one favorite moment of the trip - Meeting Thumper! I did that page up with some official Bambi stickers on a page from a book.

_DSC0152

_DSC0151

_DSC0154

Two shots of the kid and I together on a LK book page, and the guest check for lunch at Flame Tree.

_DSC0155

Guest check from dinner that night at San Angel Inn and a picture of the two of us just inside Epcot.

_DSC0156

Part of the Epcot map on the back of our photo, and a shot of the drinks at Club Cool.

_DSC0158

I meant to add something to that back of Club Cool photo, but I never did. I did sneak in a cup from our tasting and a scent card we were handed in a shop from (I think) Italy.

_DSC0159

On the back of our picture with Donald, I added some journaling stickers and some Disney paper, plus a cheap sticker of Donald. On the right I added a photo of the kid in the Mexico pavilion from 1997 with the dancers. I punched a Mickey head on red card stock and wrote on it with my favorite white pen.

_DSC0232

We LOVED doing the Kim Possible mission so I added a photo and a description I cut out of a map. On the right, another favorite character meet was with Marie in France. I fancied it up with official Aristocats stickers on a ripped out Aristocats book page.

_DSC0161

And then the day was over. I listed our high and low points on the back of the Aristocats page. Day 3 starts on the right, with a Bambi page and a sticker listing the parks we visited on day 3.

My Disney 2010 Memory Book : Part 2

So here we are. Part 2 = Day 1.

_DSC0102

This is one of the Mickey heads I used to indicate a change in days. I punched out of black cardstock with a Mickey head punch, wrote on it with a white Uniball Signo pen and glued it on the edge of a book page.

_DSC0103

There's the back of the page from Bambi. I tried to cover the text up with a journaling tag. And there's a round Mickey sticker my brother gave us on our first day there!
On the right, my boarding pass from the first leg of our flight.

_DSC0105

My birthson told us we should definitely try some popcorn at the Chicago airport. We did, and I picked up an extra napkin for the book. The popcorn was so delicious (Hannah got the cheddar cheese and I got caramel).

_DSC0106

The napkin is correct. Love is messy.
My boarding pass for the flight from Chicago to Orlando is on the right.

_DSC0108

Another blank sheet of vellum and a postcard from a Beauty and the Beast postcard book I picked up years ago.

_DSC0109

I added this picture of the 3 of us waiting for the Magical Express to the back of the postcard, along with a cheap Mickey sticker.
On the right it's a page from an Aladdin that I've added blank mailing stickers to.

_DSC0110

_DSC0112

A picture of my brother at the door of our room, and the hotel we stayed in (Bay Lake Tower) with a piece of cardstock scrap.
A cut out of Ariel on Mickey paper.

_DSC0114

I made an envelope out of pages from a Snow White book and slid our Keys to the Kingdom card and our park pass card into it.
Here's another look:

_DSC0113

_DSC0115

We had a lot of these round coasters in our room so I used a lot of them in this book. Here I've used them to show pictures of our room.
I added part of an office sticker on the left to write, and then sloppily traced around the edges with my white pen.

_DSC0117

I used these Guest Checks to document what we ate every day.

_DSC0118

Guest check from Cinderella's Royal Table on the left and a times guide on the right.

_DSC0119

The back of the times guide.
Remember when I mentioned photos from our early trips? Here's Captain Hook chasing Hannah outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I think he used to hang around there a lot. It made a big impression on her then. We went home with a pirate hat, sword and flag.

_DSC0120

On the back of the Captain Hook photos it's a plain piece of cardstock where I've written a sentence about the photo.
On the right the only way I'd seen the castle before this trip.

_DSC0121

I was thrilled to see it all lit up and like a real castle this!
And even more exciting, on our first night there, we had dinner inside the castle. I used this the princess gift card on the right to hold a few photos of us with the princesses.

_DSC0123

_DSC0125

_DSC0126

They gave us the "invitation" on the right while we were waiting to have our name called.

_DSC0127

I added more pictures from dinner to the back of the invitation. By the time we were done eating, the Magic Kingdom has closed down for the Christmas Party, and we were escorted out. Epcot was open late though, so that's where we headed.
There's my first picture of the giant golf ball.

_DSC0128

I added plain paper to the back of the photo and a small journaling square to write a tiny bit.
At the end of each day, I made a note of our high points and low points of the day. I stamped our initial on a plain mailing label and used those to keep track. This day got happy Belle and the Beast for the high points...

_DSC0130

And sad Belle and the Beast for low points.

And that was the end of our first day!

My Disney 2010 Memory Book : Part 1

I'm back from my trip and ready to show you how the mini book turned out!

DSCN7302

The folks at Bay Lay Tower thoughtfully left a big wooden tray on our sofa, and I quickly claimed it to lay out all the supplies I had brought, to lay out the book, and to drop off things I picked up at the parks during the day. I worked just a tiny bit on it every night.

_DSC0231

Here's my cover. It used to be the cover of a Little Golden Book, but I cut it all apart and punched holes in it with a cropadile. At the time I intended to add some more to it but I haven't.

_DSC0094

On the inside front cover, I added some Mickey/Minnie plastic washi tape around the edges, a big Cinderella sticker, and wrote in Disney 2010 in case I forgot when this trip happened. The first page is from the cover of a VHS I bought that had the wrong version of Cinderella in it. It was some low budget animated version, not the Disney classic. I threw everything away except this insert.

_DSC0095

I know Cinderella is not the princess who said this, but it seemed very appropriate as I counted down the days until we left.

_DSC0096

On the back of the Cinderella cover I wrote the details of how the trip came to be, and added some 3d Disney stickers from Walmart. The next page was a blank vellum page. I was digging that when I made the book.

_DSC0097

_DSC0099

A tribute to my favorite part of 101 Dalmatians, The Twilight Bark.

_DSC0100

On the back of the Dalmatians page I added another 3d Mickey.
I cut I cut a square out of Disney scrapbook paper to add a bit about our bags and another an inexpensive Mickey sticker for the next page.

_DSC0101

Hannah waiting at the airport with an Ariel sticker on the left. That's all I have for that day.

I used a book page to separate the trip days. An office sticker gave me a spot to write which parks we went to each day. I used a Mickey head punch to get those little Mickey heads. I wrote the day number on those, then used a glue stick to attach them to the page. On the right is the start of Day 1!

The Disney Book

It's Art Journal Friday, and I have worked in my art journal almost every day this week, but I don't have anything really fun to show for it. So instead I thought I'd show you some of my Disney book. I've spent a lot of time on it this week and it's finally done enough (will it ever really be done?) to show off, I think.

These are my favorite pages from day one. If you click any of them it will take you to Flickr where you can look at it bigger or look at some of the other pages, or even other days. Eventually I'll show you favorite pages from all the days, but today it's just four pages from the first day.

Day 1

I used scrapbook papers meant for Disney, but mostly I used pages and pieces from kids books I found at the local thrift store, like the Ariel here.

Day 1

Every day I wrote what we had for lunch and dinner on the Guest Check pages my boyfriend bought me years ago. I love those pages. Also here is the schedule for the Magic Kingdom fun events.

Day 1

The first night we ate inside the castle, at Cinderella's Royal Table. It was fantastic, both the food and the experience. Here inside a princesses gift card I have pictures of us with our favorite princesses, Ariel and Belle.

Day 1

More pictures from dinner, including all of us with Cinderella with too much glare. We went to Epcot afterward and I took a picture of Space Ship Earth. In the back ground you can see the page with Hannah and my high points for the day.

You can look at half the trip or so on Flickr now, but I'll be posting more daily hilights here over the next several days!

Hannah's Christmas Coupon Book

DSCN7887

When I was at my mom's the week before Christmas, helping out with the sweet new baby Madelyn, my mom reminded me of the coupon books I used to make my sisters for Christmas. I decided I needed to make one for Hannah. But my mom's town is tiny and the only places for finding art/scrapbooking supplies were Big Lots and Walmart.

I bought a pack of classic looking paper that I knew Hannah would like at Walmart, and a couple packs of stickers at Big Lots. I bought a giant Sharpie at the dollar store and luckily I had a few markers with me (of course I didn't go away from home for a couple weeks without Some art supplies). I didn't bind it till we got home so I could use the bind it all.

Here are some small photos, you can find the whole thing in this set at my Flickr.

DSCN7890     DSCN7892  DSCN7896  DSCN7898  DSCN7903    DSCN7906

She loved it by the way. She doesn't want to rip the pages out, but I bet she will...
