I am back out in the garage. It has a groovy vibe and I dig it. This last week I've been working on postcards for Hanna's postcard swap. I finished them up last night.
I also made a quick collage in my journal last night. I am loving using tape for my collages. It increases the sense of play, and that's a great thing.

It's been really nice here in Lawrence, KS lately, so we've moved operations out to the workdesk in the garage.
This morning:
The photos for the Rome section of my Europe 07 Project Life came this week, so that's what I've been working on. I kind of really dig working in the garage. It's big and has more empty space. If the incense is burning and the music is playing there's a groovy vibe I really enjoy.
Earlier in the week my friend Jen came over for a mini art party in the garage. Here's some photos from that:
See you next week, hopefully with even more garage art table fun!

I filled up my old journal this week and got started on a new one. I never like the first few pages of a new journal, so I just fill it up with anything (well, not ANYthing but you know...) till I start to like it. That meant pull out the markers, the magazines and the tape. And the tape runner (which I ran out of). Over to the left you can see some of the pieces to my Project Life. That's the Europe album and there's nothing much to do to it till I get more photos later (probably on Monday).
My sewing machine broke this week :(. Very sad. I think I just need a new foot pedal. It has two speeds now: all or nothing.
So I had some technical difficulties with these corners, they're not round like the others, but it's been a frustrating morning so we're going to have to go with this picture not matching. I like the colorful markers though so I wanted to include it. Colorful is good.
Thanks for stopping by.
And my sick pup from last week? She's all better. Thanks to those who asked. :)
Want to see my workdesk on other weeks? They're all here.

This Wednesday I'm tending to my sick sad dog, so my work desk is really this totally cool hospital type bedside table my momma found for me.
There's the previously mentioned dog. My ever important Tivo buttons. My MacBook where I'm chosing Rome pictures to print for the Europe 07 edition of Project Life. Diet Coke. Ultra Fine Point Sharpie that I used to address those mailing envelopes there. My grocery list on the bottom of the pile, and my writing journal on the top.
See my other Wednesday Workdesks

My desk isn't too much different than last week. I'm waiting for the Project Life kit I ordered to "scrap" my trip (it gets here Friday). While I'm waiting I decided to use some of the pages from my regular Project Life to get a head start on the album while I'm still excited about it.
On the left side of my table is the plastic container I bought to house all my supplies for this project, an incense burner and the start of a spread about visiting the Tower of London. Above that are papers and photos waiting to be put in their place.
The right side is still daily piles of souvenirs. These are just the rest of England. I put Paris and Rome away for now.
Check back next week, who knows what it will be!

I've very late with this today. It's been a busy day.
In 2007 I spent 3 weeks in Europe. I took a few thousand pictures and collected quite a lot of paper keepsakes. I've done a lot of things with the photos, but never made the scrapbook I meant to, and until today all the paper goodies have been hanging out in a giant ziplock.
I've been thinking of buying a Project Life kit (since I'm loving the one I'm doing for 2011) to "scrapbook" my Europe trip, so this morning I cleaned off the art table and pulled everything out of the bag.
I took a quart sized ziplock, labeled with the date, along with me and shoved everything I picked up into the days bag before I went to bed.
Thanks for stopping by!

Well, it's a little bit messier than last week.
We have my 3 hole punch. I was using it in the binder for our trip. Spray and papertowels for some believe it or not cleaning. My big basket of sprays and mists. I bought some new bottles to play around more with making my own. Little yellow trash can, behind it the ever present Disney book. On the right, some papers, some labels and my journal.
There's th paper and journal again, pens and markers from last week, a pile of junk, the tape gun, the magazine I use as scrap when I'm glue sticking, a picture of me in High School. Oh and of course the ever ignored sewing machine.
There you go. Next week might be better.

It's a snow day. We're still under a blizzard warning and the wind chills are "dangerously cold". I'm not at my work table, I'm in my bed. Under the covers with the electric bed warmer cranked up to high. On a day like today I'm doing work here in the warm bed, not there in the drafty cold basement art room. So I thought I'd show you a picture of my bed-top.
On the left is the binder I keep all my notes and print outs in, above that a hat to keep my head warm if I need it. My lap top for looking up travel websites (mostly walking and day trip tour companies today), but also for checking the weather. The Tivo buttons are always an essential. Under them, a Rick Steves' book about Ireland. To the right, sheets I made to kind of plan out our weeks day by day (I've used these sheets for so many things, foreign and domestic), mechanical pencil, composition book I'm using as a journal and a big pack of binder paper (wide ruled). In the background you can see some really old journals on my bookshelf and a little of my favorite love seat.
Today I've made a lot of headway on the Ireland and Scotland legs of our trip. I think I might actually reserve our rooms in Dublin tonight. I haven't picked a place to stay in Galway yet. If you have any recommendations, please pass them my way.
