It’s been over 2 months since I posted anything here.
I feel like I should address this, but I also feel as a blog reader I’m never interested in posts talking about how the writer is sorry they haven't posted or talk about why someone hasn’t posted for a long time.
So, you know, life. We all have one. It happens.
Here's a catch up about mine, with photos of course.
I knew I was going to be out of the state on election day, so on the first day it was possible, I drove downtown with Danny and Hannah and we all voted.
I was on the local news for a second, talking about how I hoped the fact that it was crowded that day meant a lot of people cared about voting this year. It was kinda funny. I think I seemed exactly like my dorky self.
Another night, some tv channel was showing a remake of Rocky Horror Picture Show. I wasn't expecting it to come close to matching the glory of the original. You know I love Laverne Cox (I will spare you showing the picture of when I met her again), but, um, Tim Curry. I didn't know there was going to be Ben Vereen though, and watching him was so worth it. I tweeted about a tiny part and then my life was made complete when HE LIKED MY TWEET.
I can now die complete having exchanged vows of love with John Rubenstein and having my Pippin tweet liked by Ben Vereen.
Near the end of October, my family and I took off for our annual trip to Disney World. We planned this trip so we could experience both the fall decorations and Halloween Party, and the (very early) change to Christmas decorations and Christmas Party. We stayed a ridiculously long time.
The start of our trip overlapped with my long time friend's family trip, and I got a chance to see her for a bit at the Magic Kingdom. That was a treat.
After our long stay at the parks, Danny and Hannah headed back to Kansas and I stayed for another week with my brother (who now works for Disney).
And I had some very fun times hang out time with my friends who stayed in Florida after our College Program.
Eventually I came back to Kansas and my sister and brother in law (along with their two baby girls) spent about a week here transforming my sad and ugly main floor into a place I am gleeful to call home.
Since then I've spent my time working on the new decorating upstairs, having Thanksgiving, getting ready for Christmas, having Christmas, seeing some movies, and worrying about the state of our nation.
Hannah is about to get her driver's license for real, and has started moving many of her things into the apartment she will be sharing with her boyfriend. He's been around for quite a while and it seems that he will be a part of our family for - well - a really long time. He even spent a good portion of the Disney trip with us. It's a big transition for all of us, but it's the way life works. I'm very happy for that girl, and ready to see what life as an empty nester is like.
What's coming up next? 2017. It better behave. More work on my house. A cruise with Danny in May. And countless things I could in no way predict.
