Today, Google reminded me that it was 5 years ago today that Hannah and I started our long adventure across a tiny bit of Europe. I thought it might be fun to show you some pictures of the days as their anniversaries come up.
The first thing we did after we settled into our hostel was head out to explore something. We walked a couple blocks into a boring residential area, and then turned around and quickly found this, Dublin Castle. Big giant ancient castle in the middle of everything.
It was pretty gorgeous. We explored the castle, the church and the grounds.
We left there and headed where we thought most of the people were headed.
And eventually found our way to the River Liffey. That was my goal for our first day.
The Ha'penney Bridge
In the sidewalk there were plaques, like above, indicating ancient Viking stuff they had found at that spot. Very cool.
We were so jet lagged and starving, we didn't wander around much before deciding on a lunch spot. Hannah chose a restaurant by our hostel that was a lot like Chipotle in a strange Irish way. Yum. After that it was late enough we headed back to our room to sleep hard until morning.
