Saturday, February 7
I had Saturday off, which meant it was a park day! I decided to start the day at Hollywood Studios. I never really thought I loved that park so much, but I keep finding myself deciding to go there.
I parked and headed to the Guest Serivce window to get my day pass. There were a lot of other CPs in line doing the same thing. This day I really noticed how many guests are actually cast members. I wonder what the percentage on any random day is.
I headed for the fast pass area over by the theatre that used to be for American Idol. The CM who helped me liked my Buzz shirt and we talked for a while about different Buzz Lightyear merchandise like the bow from Hot Topic and my phone case. I ended up with fast passes for the Great Movie ride, the Frozen sing along, and of course my favorite, the Tower of Terror.
I wandered back to take some pictures of how the hat removal is coming along. It looks great coming down. I can’t wait until it’s gone.
There were some characters nearby and I decided I wanted to meet Goofy in his dapper outfit.
I headed to Starring Rolls next to get myself a cupcake. I went with the Butterfinger cupcake. Delicious, but way too much. I’m not sure how often I’ll be getting cupcakes when I don’t have someone to share with.
I couldn’t finish it, but I did enjoy what I had.
I used my fastpass for the Great Movie ride next.
It was about the same as always, and as usual I got the gangster scene instead of the cowboy scene. Next time I’ll ask. I did have a pretty good gangster this time though. I liked her.
I used my Tower of Terror fast pass after that.
It was gorgeous that day.
On the way back down the street I stumbled upon some "street-mosphere" and stopped to watch these two film a commercial for peanut brittle. Very funny.
You know I was going to meet Buzz while I was at the studios, and I decided to do that next. Megan called while I was in line and kept me company for the long wait. It can get to be a bit of a mad house in there. Kids are crazy and the line sometimes loses it’s orderliness as people pose for pictures at the different spots. And it gets hot.
But here’s the payoff.
The toys were fun as always. Buzz liked my shirt and Woody noticed my phone case as his attendant was taking our picture. He wanted us to pose for another picture while I held it. Fun!
I sat on a bench in Pixar Place for a while afterward to check the internet and decide what to do next, which was head up the Streets of America. I knew Cinderella’s carriage was there somewhere and figured it was probably near the theatre that’s showing a sneak peek. But there it was on the street!
Characterpalooza time was getting close, so I headed that way and stopped to sit at a table on Sunset Blvd to write in my journal. After that I headed to the back exit of ToT to wait for Characterpalooza time.
A bit of a crowd gathered around so I guess it’s not that much of a secret anymore. The gates opened just a little late and I was excited to see 7 characters back there! And the characters back there are always so chatty and so much fun. I love it.
(In case you don’t know, Characterpalooza is the name fans have given to an unannounced character meet that’s done at the studios as a part of character training. You never know who’s going to be there and there are never photopass photographers, but it can be a lot of fun.)
It was lunch/dinner time after that, so I headed to my favorite, the Backlot Express. I was hoping to sit outside and watch Jedi Training, but I timed it just wrong. Oh well. Next time, right?
I was about done after that and headed to the Magic Kingdom to meet up with Adam, Monica and Jamie. My cold was starting to get the best of me but I was determined to have a good time, so I headed in and met with them in front of Starbucks. We met a nice CP doing custodial there and chatted with him for a while until he had to get to work. Someone decided we should head to Buzz Lightyear next so we headed off that way. We actually rode Carousel of Progress next. Jamie had never been to Disney World before this program so everything was new to her and we all thought that was a ride that was very necessary.
We got in line for Buzz next. I rode with Adam and he beat me by many, many points. I look so lost and confused! I'm blaming it on the cold.
After that we thought we’d ride the people mover but the line was crazy! Instead we got in line to get a beverage since we were all thirsty.
It was a crazy long time, and as we stood there I started feeling worse and worse. I decided it was time for me to head home and bailed on the rest of the evening. I came home and went straight to bed.
