The last time I posted was Aug 3. It's way past that now and I have something to tell you about.
From what I understand, it was a lovely day here in Lawrence. I don't really know because I spent the whole day inside helping Alan "revonovate" (as Hannah would say) my tiny little bathroom. Mostly that meant I sat on the steps nearby, waiting for him to say something like "Can you hand me that knife?" or "Where's that flashlight?" or sometimes even something like "Can you work this screwdriver?"
The sink is gone. The toilet is gone. The yucky drywall along the bottom (that got wet many years ago when a pipe froze and flooded things) is gone and mostly replaced. The floor has been scraped clean of any remaining carpet glue. I don't even know what else. I do know there's plenty left and we'll be working on that tomorrow. The plumber comes Friday morning.
I can't really understand why it's taking so much work. It is such a tiny bathroom. Alan measured it. 52 x 58. With one corner sliced off for the door. That's 4' 4" x 4' 10". That's my bathroom. You can go ahead and feel sorry for me now. Oh, but maybe not yet. I didn't mention that doesn't count the shower. The showers not big either, but it's not included in the 4' 4" x 4' 10". Somehow when we were diviing up spaces in our Big Yellow House, I got the teeniest tiniest bathroom we have. It's really meant to be a tiny basement bathroom where you shower up after working in the garden, I think, but for the past 16 years or so, it's been my bathroom. Definitely not suited to the needs of a grown woman.
It's going to be like a dream bathroom for me when it's done though.
Here's a before we started picture. I had to go all the way in to the shower to get any kind of look at it
And I took this when we were done for the night tonight:
I'm in touch with reality. When we're done it's still way too small. But it will be brand new and fresh and brighter and have some much better storage solutions. I plan to keep you updated.
