I didn't get last week done till this weekend because I was out of town with my family while my baby sister had a little baby of her own! I had a blast in my art room this weekend putting the two weeks together.
Whoops. I would like to say things about these shots, but my computer is so close to dead I can't even do that. Sad. Hopefully you can figure it out.

I haven't been posting because I've been at my mom's and as much as I've wanted to, it's been crazy busy around here. Even now I should be sleeping, but I really want to show you some pictures and type a couple words.
The reason I'm here:
My newest sweet baby niece, Addison Day, was born on Monday afternoon.
My sister Megan, baby niece Mady, Me, my sister Lindsay, baby Addison and the mom/grandma of us all.
Everything went smoothly and quickly. Go Lindsay and new baby. That night the new family moved to their room and we all took them a nutritious meal from McDonalds and used my tablet to Skype with Danny and Hannah, still home in Lawrence.
The next day Megan and I visited the hospital and tried the "cocoon" my mom made on the baby. It wasn't quite big enough, but still cute. She's fixed it now but we keep forgetting to take pictures.

In the mean time there are the puppies. My mom is fostering a Weimeriner mix and her puppies. There used to be 6. Today she had to rush one to the vet after she noticed strange spots on one's face, and more worrisome, big bumps on his neck. The pup was sluggish, not really moving much or playing like the others. We were both wildly worried and when I put him in the basket for her to take to the vet I was sure his he wasn't long for this world. Turns out, since he was the runt, he had just been too chewed on and beaten up by his much bigger siblings. The bumps were abcesses. The vet fixed him up and found a new home for just that pup, so he could be hand fed and given medicine until he's bigger and better. Then he might come back to his family, or might not. The big news is that he will be fine. Horray puppy. But how sad for him for now. He must have been so miserable.
This morning after my sister Megan had to go substitute teach, I assembled several nights of crockpot meals for Lindsay and Brad to eat for the next week. We snuck over to her house and hid them in the freezer for them to find when they got home from the hospital. Very fun! I made a pot roast, a creamy chicken mix, an Asian chicken mix, a Mexican chicken mix and an Italian chicken mix. I don't know if it'll be all good, but I know it'll be easy and that's the point.
While Megan was teaching and my mom was at the vet in Joplin, I babysat the baby girl. Since it was 70 degrees here, we played outside and I took a bunch of pictures with RetroCamera on my phone.
New baby came home this afternoon and I got to spend the evening helping out while new Daddy took him mom home. I took this picture while I was rocking her. I am in so much love.
Welcome to Project Life Tuesday! It's week 6 and I actually like this week's pages!

The left side. A shot from my art journal, dinner, a shot of my Netflix discs, journaling about tv watching. After a lovely warm winter, this weekend it got way too cold so I shot a photo of the temperature sign at the bank down the street. Dig the Jayhawk out front. Hannah gave me one of her used up bus passes for the PL.
I printed out a photo of Downton Abbey (my current obsession), but I managed to cut the bottom off. As Hannah and I watched the Grammy's sunday night I snapped a shot of her next to the TV.
And that's week 6. Not too bad. Now if I can just start getting these posts made during the daylight hours it would be way better. We'll see.
After I finished the week I did this:
At the beginning of the year, I sorted out all the journaling cards and added them into all the spots for each week. I thought it would make things easier. But really it's just been annoying. I like to use those slots for other things and I end up changing the cards I do keep. So tonight I pulled them all out, stacked them all back up and put them in the PL core kit box to use on a more individual basis.
I'm hoping next week will be even better! And I'll have to get it done on Monday because Monday night I'm headed to Pittsburg, KS for the birth of my new baby niece on Tuesday! Welcome to other baby. The one thing I can't forget to take is my camera (and it's charging cable)!

I accidentally cleaned off my art table while I was on the phone the other day. Yesterday I made myself sit down at it. I pulled out one old magazine and decided I'd make two pages with what I found in that magazine. It wasn't a real great magazine so I had to tear out anything that was a little interesting to me.
It was fun, and somehow having casual parameters like that makes it easier to do something. I might try it again.
Week 5. The weekdays were pretty dull, but the weekend was full of visiting my family. There were 2 birthday's and a baby shower. I haven't done the journaling Yet, but I've planned a couple of long, fold in half journaling cards to keep track of the memories.
The week starts with what I intend to be the traditional dog shot of the week. There's the potato soup in a bowl I had Monday to make up for going to the dentist, and then shots of the weekend: me and my mom, the baby girl, my mom's tattoo and a living room full of family. I want to maybe add a kind of label to each of the 4x6 photos. I don't know if I will.
I am out of 6up photo pages! Oh no. I use them a lot and should have realized I needed more, but I didn't. Until then I selected and rounded the corner on the 6 photos I plan to use. My mom getting her tattoo, her birthday dinner, the baby girl and the pregnant one.

More shower pictures, and some family photos. I'd like to label these as well. Plus I think there are too many pictures of me and Lindsay. I might change one out for something else. Or maybe not.

As the desert first teaches men to love water, or as absence first reveals affection, there rose up against this background of the sour and the crooked some kind of vision of the sweet and the straight. Something else – something he vaguely called the "Normal" – apparently existed.... It was all mixed up with Jane and fried eggs and soap and sunlight and the rooks cawing at Cure Hardy and the thought that, somewhere outside, daylight was going on at that moment. He was not thinking in moral terms at all; or else (what is much the same thing) he was having his first deeply moral experience. He was choosing a side: the Normal.
I finished listening to That Hideous Strength today. I was about to finish it last night when I realized I hadn't loaded to last disk onto my phone. Drag! I had to wait till this morning. My thoughts about it aren't sorted, but I love Lewis' story telling. I love the way he puts words together. I love the words he chooses. And I love the way he explains things. Often things I've always kind of thought but never knew quite how to put into words before.
On the other hand, there's no science fiction in this 3rd part of his science fiction trilogy. It's not really fantasy either although it's probably closer to tha.t It's more like 1984 or Animal Farm. The worst part it's very sexist, although I don't think he means it to be. Look at me making excuses for one of my heroes, but I just think really, he's a brilliant and magical man, but what does he know about women and marriage? That's how I don't hold it against him anyway. Nobody's perfect.
There were plenty of beautiful parts. It's that sentence about soap and eggs above that will always stand out in my mind, but there were other bits that stay with me as well.
"Don't you like a rather foggy a in a wood in autumn? You'll find we shall be perfectly warm sitting in the car."
Jane said she'd never heard of anyone liking fogs before but she didn't mind trying. All three got in.
"That's why Camilla and I got married, " said Denniston as they drove off. "We both like Weather. Not this or that kind of weather, but just Weather. It's a useful taste if one lives in England."
"How ever did you learn to do that, Mr. Denniston?" said Jane. "I don't think I should ever learn to like rain and snow."
"It's the other way around," said Denniston. "Everyone begins as a child by liking Weather. You learn the art of disliking it is you grown up. Noticed it on a snowy day? The grown-ups are all going about with long faces, but look at the children - and the dogs? They know what snow's made for."
"I'm sure I hated wet days as a child," said Jane.
"That's because the grown-ups kept you in," said Camilla. "Any child loves rain if allowed to go out and paddle about in it."
"Sir," said Jane, "I know nothing of Maleldil. But I place myself in obedience to you."
"It is enough for the present," said the Director. "This is the courtesy of Deep Heaven: that when you mean well, He always takes you to have meant better than you knew."
He doesn’t make two blades of grass the same: how much less two saints, two nations, to angels.
We went to Pittsburg this weekend to celebrate birthdays and throw a baby shower.
Friday night we had dinner and then redboxed a movie. I love this picture, and that we drug in the matress from the guest room so Lindsay could get comfortable.
I swear this baby is not drunk. Just way too tired, I promise.
When the Joplin Humane Society has a pregnant dog to be fostered, one of the people they call for help is my momma. Right now she has a scared but sweet momma dog, named Sophie. She is Weimereiner and Lab. She just had 6 babies. They were too little to really hold or play with so I just took some pictures for my mom to post. Here's a couple. If you'd like one, or the needy yet loving Sophie, contact the Joplin Humane Society.
This shirt says "I still live with my parents." I love it. I bought it for my nephew Matthew when he was a baby and it was fun to see my little baby girl in it.
For my mom's birthday, she got a tattoo of 3 paw prints.
My brother dropped in to surprise her, bringing his girlfriend and our cousin Tyler. We all went out to eat at my mom's favorite restaurant.
Today we threw another shower for our baby sister's baby.
I love this one of Lindsay, cutting up veggies for her own shower.
Megan did a Fantastic job with the decorating.

Me and my baby niece! The next time I go to Pittsburg it will be to meet her! I can't wait.
