In 2010, I was very into making mini books. I was in love with the travel journals of Monkia Wright (espeically one about her visit to Charlotte), and Mary Ann Moss. I had just taken Elise Blaha's Big Mini Workshop and loved it, so when we were getting ready for my first trip back to Disney World that December, I decided I needed to make a mini book for that.
I took along a pretty bare book, intending to fill it with journaling and ephemera while we were there, and add photos and finishing touches after we got back.
First, I started collecting books of Disney stories we like from thrift stores and garage sales. I shopped craft stores for Disney papers and stickers. I also used some postcards from a postcard book I had picked up in the clearance section a few years earlier. Later I decided to use a few of our pictures from our two previous trips, when Hannah was 3 & 4. The book covers are covers from Little Golden books; the front is an old Alice in Wonderland and the back is from Hannah's favorite, The Lion King. Most of the pages are from The Little Mermaid and Bambi with some 101 Dalmatians and Aristocats thrown in.
This is each day's page laid out in a stack, with the covers at the end on the right. The stack on the top left is for before we leave.
As we got I'll fill it up and I should look a lot more interesting. Until then, here are some pictures from day 6 to show you how it's starting out.
I kind of love it and can't wait to get it into my hotel room in Disney World (39 days) and work on filling it up every night!
